I learned mostly from experience and looking at how other people did things. But.. www.webmonkey.com is good.

umm type html tutor in a search engine
or look at source code and alter it then look at the differences on the page so you can see what you changed
but make sure it is simple at first
cuz it is a real bitch if you start with complex stuff

I learned most of the stuff I know off http://www.htmlgoodies.com - although I'd prolly disagree with the tutorials now, seeing as they're teaching with depricated tags.
